Coy Julius Whitley, 66, died Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at St. Mary's Hospital.
Born in Clarke County, he was the son of the late Julius Whitley, Jr. and the late Sarah Brown. He was a truck driver for Athens Building Supply for 15 years.
Survivors include his sons, Steven Whitley, Charlie Whitley, Richard Cannon, all of Bishop; daughters Alicia Phillips, Cindy Whitley, both of Bishop, Lynn Bates of Putnam County; sister Janice Murphy of Colbert; step-children Ha Hie Tattum of Danielsville, Pe Wee Whitley of Hull; close friend Brenda Sorrow.
Funeral service will be held Friday, April 15, 2005 at 3 p.m. at Lord & Stephens West Chapel with Rev. Larry Townsend officiating. Pallbearers will be John Shelton, Danny Self, Linus McDaniel, Jeff Allgood, Ray McDaniel and Roy Self, Jr. Burial will be held at Mars Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Lord & Stephens, West is in charge of arrangements.
