Cliff Pickett

Paul “Cliff” Pickett, 71, of Watkinsville, Georgia, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024 in Athens, Georgia.

Cliff was born on June 19, 1952 in Chattanooga, TN to Paul Vernon Pickett & Nadine Moore. He attended high school in Whitwell, TN, and went on to play football for University of TN Chattanooga and Middle TN State University. Cliff had a successful career as an entrepreneur & insurance broker.  He enjoyed working in his yard, doo wop music and especially spending time with family. At his core, he was truly selfless and thought of others around before thinking of himself.

Cliff is preceded by his wife of 40+ years, Gayle Pickett.  He is survived by his mother, Nadine M Holtcamp of Hixson TN; two sons and their wives, Paul “Dustin” Pickett and wife Shannon, Tyrus “Van” Rose and wife Lulu;  five grandchildren, Ty, Katie, Alex, Seth & Levi.

Visitation will be held Saturday, February 24, at 12:00 p.m., Grace Baptist Church, with a service held thereafter at 1pm with Pastor Ed Strickland presiding.
