Christopher Edward Yarbrough, 44, a Watkinsville native, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2024 after a long battle with cancer.

Chris was born on December 16, 1979 to Ed and Debbie Yarbrough. After graduating from Oconee County High School in 1998, he went on to attend Georgia College & State University, graduating in 2003, where he majored in political science with a minor in sociology & geography. During his adult career, Chris held several different jobs, including Thomas Orchards, Oconee State Bank, Loganville Ford, and Houseman Pest Control.

Chris married Jessica Clements of Stone Mountain, GA, on October 13, 2012. During their twelve years of marriage, they were blessed with their son, Jackson. Chris is preceded in death by his father: Ed Yarbrough, and his grandparents: Bud & Margaret Yarbrough and Jerry & Martha Lou Smith. He is survived by his wife, Jessica; his son, Jackson; his mother, Debbie Yarbrough, and his sisters, Ali Gilliam (John), Melissa Fox (Damon), and Megan Troutman (Jared). From his wife’s side, Chris is survived by his mother-in-law, Becky Clements; his sisters-in-law, Christy Marbut (Kevin), Caye Watts (Jeff), Jennifer Chastain (Rodney). He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews from both sides of the family.

During his brave battle with cancer, Chris spent his time with his family in between treatments, making sure to share his love of baseball and sports with his son, Jackson. Chris will be deeply missed by those he leaves behind, and his impact on the lives of those who knew him will not be forgotten.

A visitation will be held at the Yarbrough family home (4201 Greensboro Highway) on Sunday, November 17 from 1:00pm-2:30pm, followed by a graveside service at Watkinsville Cemetery.
