Charles Ray Cannon

Charles Ray Cannon, cherished father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at the age of 80.

Born in Athens, he was a son of the late John S. Cannon and Helen M. Damron. Mr. Cannon was a Veteran of the United States Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Hall Cannon; one sister, Shirley Payne and one granddaughter, Ashleigh Hill.

Survivors include three children, Terri (Tom) Wood of Gray, GA, Amanda (Gregg) Franklin of Tampa, FL and Charlene Standridge of Watkinsville; five siblings, Johnny Cannon (Barbara) of Anderson, SC, Mary Hammond of Bogart, Peggy Gunter of Bogart, Virginia Metternick of Maysville and William Cannon (Cathy) of Columbus, GA; five grandchildren, Bryan (Tori) Wood, Zachary Franklin, Jacob Franklin, Emilee Standridge and Logan Hill; three great-grandchildren, AJ Hill, Lincoln Hill and Jameson Wood.

Memorial services will be Friday, December 2, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Lord and Stephens, East with Rev. Nathan Palmer officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 until 2:00 at the funeral home.
