Cathy Burkett

Cathy Dunn Burkett, 66, wife of the late Joseph Edward “Joe” Burkett died on September 24, 2026.

Born in the Atlanta area, Cathy was the daughter of the late Edward Ricky Dunn, Sr. and Ann Hunter Dunn. Cathy worked for more than 20 years at Wallpaper Atlanta as a manager and at the Potters House in Commerce. Cathy and Joe were die hard Dale Earnhardt fans. Cathy adored her cats Dale, Farrah and Bella.

Survivors include one brother, Ricky (Carol) Dunn; cousin, JimmyGriggs; brother-in-law Kenneth (Sally) Burkett; one niece (Rhonda),one nephew (Travis) and four great nieces.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at 11AM at Lord and Stephens East Chapel with Pastor Crist Camden officiating. The family will receive friends from 10AM until 11AM prior to the service.

Flowers are optional or donations may be made to the Athens Area Humane Society.
