Camille Schaefer Fulmer, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home on September 13, 2025, at the age of 82.
Born in Macon, Georgia, Camille lived a life full of beauty, creativity, and grace. A brilliant interior decorator, she transformed countless homes and businesses across Georgia—creating beautiful spaces for clients ranging from celebrities to lifelong friends. She had an extraordinary natural talent and eye for design, able to take something ordinary and make it truly magical.
Camille was a woman of deep faith and a longtime member of Watkinsville First Baptist Church, where she found joy, friendship, and spiritual strength. She also loved traveling the world on great adventures with her beloved husband, William Robert “Bob” Fulmer, with whom she shared 52 wonderful years of marriage before his passing in 2017.
She was an avid sports fan, cheering faithfully for the University of Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Braves. Camille loved gardening, cooking for her family and friends, and helping others who were less fortunate.
Of all her many talents and gifts, Camille’s greatest joy was being “Cami.” She loved attending her grandson Jackson’s football games and cherished the time they spent together at home. She delighted in playing cards and board games with her oldest firstborn grandson Avery, and with her youngest grandson Landon, she treasured watching him grow and loved seeing all the joys that come with being the youngest. Camille was also incredibly proud of her son Josh, who is an active duty Colonel in the U.S. Army, and her daughter Joy, who brought her so much happiness and love.
She is survived by her children Josh (Amy) Fulmer of Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and Joy Fulmer of Watkinsville, Georgia; her cherished grandchildren Avery, Jackson, and Landon; her brother-in-law Preston Thomas Fulmer and his wife, Teena Fulmer, of Newnan, Georgia; and her childhood best friend, as close as a sister, Carole Smith of Johns Creek, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Fulmer.
A graveside ceremony celebrating Camille’s life will be held at Oconee Memorial Park Cemetery in Watkinsville, Georgia, on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, starting at 11:00 AM.
Her life was a masterpiece of love, beauty, and grace, and she leaves behind a legacy that will be cherished forever.
