Buddy McCants

Walter Martin "Buddy" McCants, 57, of Colbert, died Tuesday, January 23, 2018. Born in Athens, he was the son of the late Ralph McCants and Polly Watson McCants. Buddy worked with his family business, Clarke County Milling Company, until 2005 and most recently with Harbin Lumber Company. He was baptized at Tuckston United Methodist Church where his parents were lifelong members. Survivors include his wife of 13 years, Diane H. McCants; sister: Nancy McCants; cousin and best friend: Chuck McCants as well as several aunts, uncle, cousins and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 29, 2018 at 4PM at Lord & Stephens West Chapel. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 prior to the service at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to the Athens Area Humane Society, 1781 Mars Hill Road, Watkinsville, GA 30677.
