Brenda Jo (Dixon) Escoe

d. January 12, 2014

Brenda Jo Dixon Escoe passed away Sunday, January 12, at her home in Colbert. She was born in Clarke County, the daughter of the late Melvin and Mildred Dixon. Her grandparents were Noah and Gladys Loyd, and A.L. Sr. and Hattie Dixon.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Jim Escoe Sr. of Colbert; a daughter, Kim Gregory of Madeira Beach, Florida; a daughter, Kay Escoe of Colbert; and a son, Jim Escoe, Jr. (Rowdy) and his wife Shaune of Colbert.
She is survived by four grandsons, Adam Dees and his wife Chelsea of Park City, Utah; Zach Escoe and Spencer Escoe of Colbert; and Sam Gregory of Land o'Lakes, Florida. In 2012 her beloved great-grandson, Conrad, was born to Adam and Chelsea, and she had the joy of a visit from them last April.
Brenda loved her family, and enjoyed growing beautiful flowers and reading. She also had a wonderfully kind heart for pets, and if a dog or cat needing a good home found their way to her, they would be loved and cared for. Her cat Sheila was a constant companion during the last days of her life.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 14, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, Highway 98, Danielsville. Services will be held at their chapel Wednesday at 2 p.m., followed by burial at Colbert City Cemetery. Reverend Jack Segars will conduct the service. Pallbearers will be Danny Dixon, David Dixon, Phillip Dixon, Anthony Dixon, Ray Nunn, and Jackson Loyd.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Madison-Oglethorpe Animal Shelter, 1888 Colbert Danielsville Rd., Danielsville, GA 30633.
