Bracton Lee Godbee, "Lee", 83, of Bogart, passed away on March 13, 2026. Born on November 28, 1942 in Moultrie, Georgia, he was the son of the late Bracton W. Godbee and Evelyn Alford Godbee.

Lee was someone who loved socializing and connecting with others making his job as a delivery driver for UPS, from which he retired after 25 years of service, an ideal position for him, allowing him to meet people from all walks of life. He had a great sense of humor and no matter the conversation you were having with him, he would always be sure to include his best dad joke. He maintained an active lifestyle and found joy in unique hobbies such as metal detecting on beaches and school playgrounds. His passion for history took him to special events, including an organized metal detecting outing in Connecticut on historic Civil War grounds. He also enjoyed exploring the stories behind old homes. His grandchildren brought him great joy and brought out the best in him..

Lee served in the Air Force, reflecting his deep love for this country. In his home office there is a quote he proudly displayed: "It is nice to be important but it is more important to be nice." This quote reflected the honorable traits he exhibited such as honesty, kindness and integrity. He made a lasting impression on his family and those around him by leading by example. Lee was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and a devoted member of Prince Avenue Baptist Church, where he was actively involved in Ted Phillips’ community group

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Blake Foster.
