Bobby L. Davis

Bobby L. Davis, a beloved resident of Crawford, Georgia, peacefully met our Lord on the 21st of November 2023, at the age of 83. The son of the late Chester Davis and Clara Wheatley Davis of Washington, Georgia. Bobby was also preceded in death by his siblings Ethel Johnson, Earlene Kennedy, Mary Lou Maxwell, JC Davis, William Davis, and Sheldon Davis. Bobby is survived by his wife, Carolyn Olds Davis, his children Rhonda Wray (Tim), Chris Davis (Yulonda), Wanda Bryant (David), Thomas Glenn (Michelle), Philip Glenn, Alex Bryant (Fahma), his sister, Linda Weaver, his 14 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish his memory. Bobby’s presence in their lives brought comfort, laughter, and an enduring sense of love.

Bobby dedicated 27 years of service to the University of Georgia. Bobby’s commitment to his career was matched only by his devotion to his faith. He was an active and dedicated member of Living Water Baptist Church and played an integral role in the community at Millstone Baptist Church as a faithful servant for 25 years and as an ordained deacon.

Bobby’s life was a testament to kindness, resilience, and unwavering faith. He will be remembered for his dedication to his community and his warm-hearted nature that touched the lives of many. Bobby’s passion for woodworking, music and laughter brought joy to those around him, and his commitment to bettering the lives of others leaves a lasting legacy.

In honoring Bobby’s life, we celebrate the profound impact he had on everyone he encountered. His spirit will live on in our hearts, and his memory will continue to inspire us.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 25th at Lord & Stephens on the East Side of Athens, Georgia at 11:00 am. Following the service, Bobby will be laid to rest at Memorial Gardens in Washington, Georgia, a serene place where his spirit will find eternal rest. Tim Wray will offer the final prayer, imparting words of comfort and peace. The family will receive extended family and friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, November 24th at Lord & Stephens.

The funeral service, honoring Bobby’s life, will be led by Pastor Derek Paul and David Burt, who are individuals who shared his dedication to faith and the community.

The pallbearers who will carry Bobby’s memory forward with reverence and respect are Phillip McDaniel, Drew Skinner, Jared Fleming, Karl Davis, Ken Ray and Dennis Moon. The honorary pallbearers will be Kirk Davis, Frank Landreth, William Morrison, Gary Davis, BC Kennedy and Noah Wahl.
