Billy Jack Lee, affectionately known as “BJ” to family and friends, 83 of Watkinsville, Georgia went to be with the Lord on September 2nd, 2023. He was born in Lee, Virginia on February 16th, 1940 of the late Champ and Osa Mae (Cheek) Lee. Billy spent most of his years in South Florida and graduated from Belle Glade High School in 1959. As a young man, he was known to his classmates and friends as “Beef” and played football as an offensive tackle. He was voted as Most Athletic. Billy served in the Army from 1959-1962, where he was honorably discharged due to a knee injury. He had a 42 year career with A Duda & Sons where he was a heavy construction division manager. He later retired and moved to Watkinsville, Georgia in 2007 with the love of his life, Wanda. Billy was an avid Miami Hurricanes fan, never missed a Nascar race, enjoyed spending his time working in his garden and yard, and had a love for hunting and wildlife like no other. He poured his heart and soul into his career to provide a great life for his family. He instilled values such as integrity, hard work and honesty to those he loved and cared about. Billy is preceded in death by his parents, siblings, wife, Wanda Joyce Lee, and one great grandson, Brady Jack Burgess. He is survived by his family; daughter Dana (Greg) Westberry of Clewiston, FL, son Greg Lee of Fort Myers, FL, daughter Tracey (Matt) Patrick of Watkinsville, GA; four grandchildren Lauren (Aaron) Burgess of Eatonton, GA, Brandon Westberry of Clewiston, FL, Kendall (Travis) Clark of Bairdstown, GA, and Dalton Lee of Ft. Myers, FL; great grandchildren Hayes Burgess, Bryndle Westberry and Wylie Paige Clark. Lord and Stephens West is in charge of arrangements and a private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
