Comer - Bettye laMar Speaks Veater died early Wednesday, November 22, 2006 as a result of complications from a fall. She died peacefully at Athens Regional Medical Center. A former resident of Stone Mountain, she was residing in Comer at the time of her death.
Bettye is survived by her husband, Joel G. Veater, daughter, Lee Beth Burge (Chet), son, Donald Keith Veater, sister, Mary Frances Burdette (Bill), brother, Charles Burnham Speaks (Ruth), and four grandchildren, Manuel, Emma, Elizabeth and Ella Burge.
Memorial services will be Sunday, November 26, 2006 at 3:00 PM at Lord and Stephens Danielsville Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 PM.
