Betty Ann Nera-Carlisle

October 25, 1951 — January 24, 2024

Betty Ann Nera-Carlisle, 72, of Watkinsville, GA died on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 after an intense seven week battle with AML- Acute Myelogenous Leukemia. Born in San Pablo, Philippines to the late John Henry Carlisle and Soledad Nera Carlisle and sister to the late Mary Kellen Aldrich. Betty rose to and retired from the position of Material Analyst with Gulfstream Aerospace, primarily working with military accounts. Her coworkers would attest to the quiet yet accomplished manner in which she performed, having trained multiple employees to assume the singular position she held. She enjoyed sunshine, waves, palm trees, traveling, dogs, hiking the outdoors, stomping in the Rockies, gardening, and doting over four beautiful daughters. She was outspoken on respect, etiquette, placing others above self, and had enough humility to bank for a lifetime. Although she was soft spoken, there was no mistaking who the matriarch of the family was and is. She was a deep and introspective person willing to freely share the knowledge she obtained in her broad readings. The influence she had on her girls and the lives she touched reveal a clear picture of what it actually is to be a loving and giving human being in every interaction. It is possible there is not a nicer human being on our planet. Even in the midst of raising four daughters, the way in which she touched other’s lives was remarkable, and her sons-in-law and grandsons-in-law will attest to this. In short, there’s just not enough time or paper to record just how special she was to so many people. It is always an honor to meet and experience an extraordinary person, but to live with them and to enjoy life with them is a privilege that few ever experience. The number of lives she touched will never be known. Survivors include her four daughters: Gina Rogers Brewer (Rick), Penina Rangel-Finau (Daniel), Chloe Finau and Seipua Finau; three siblings: Warren Carlisle, Allan Carlisle and Becky Harshman (Curt); five grandchildren: Tania, Tiana, Viane, JR and Perla and two great grandchildren: Mason and Lela. A service celebrating Betty’s wonderful life will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 3PM at Lord and Stephens West with Pastor Joe Bucha officiating. The family will receive and welcome friends from 2PM until 3PM prior to the service. Flowers are optional or memorial donations may be made to Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS).
