Betty Ann Lawson, 86, of Colbert, passed away on July 14, 2023.

Betty was born to William Hansford and Ann West Hansford on July 21, 1936. She worked for Rockwell Automation and retired after 25 years of service. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church. She was a Red Hatter who loved to travel, watch NASCAR, Elvis, and rooting for her Dawgs.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Phillip Hansford, Johnny Hansford, Charles Hansford, and Sybil Canada; and a granddaughter, Erin Chandler.

Betty is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, James Edward Lawson; their daughter, Marilyn (David) Anderson; 6 grandchildren: Heather, Rachel, Haley, Chloe, Chris, and Michael; and 5 great-grandchildren: Glenn, Ella, Brady, Joshua, and Izzy; along with many family and friends.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, July 18 at Lord and Stephens, East Chapel at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Northside Baptist Church, 825 Danielsville Rd, Athens, GA 30601.
