Betty Malcom Huff Berry

Watkinsville, Georgia - Betty Malcom Huff Berry , 89, died January 24, 2011. Born May 10, 1921, in Walton County , Georgia , she was the seventh of eight children born to the late Merritt Judson and Helen Thurmond Malcom. She was preceded in death by all her siblings, and by her first husband, Lunis H. Huff, and her second husband, Roy E. Berry. She had lived in Oconee County , Georgia , since early childhood, first in Bishop and then in Watkinsville. She was a loving and devoted member of Watkinsville First United Methodist Church for more than sixty years and served in a number of capacities, especially in the Women's guild (WSCS). Betty was a retired beautician, having owned and operated her beauty shop for over forty years in Watkinsville. Betty is survived by two sons, Burney H. Huff (Leigh) of Lakewood , Washington and Robert Judson Huff (Pat) of Watkinsville , GA ; and three granddaughters, Mary E. Huff, of Covington , WA , Julie C. Huff of Seattle , WA , and Georgia A. Smith (Jamie) of Jefferson , GA , one grandson, Rob H. Huff, of Watkinsville, GA, one great-granddaughter, Zoe L. Zoellner, of Seattle, WA one great-grandson, Jacob J. Flowers, of Jonesboro, GA, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at Watkinsville First United Methodist Church on January 26, 2011 at 1:00 PM, with Reverend Randy Kanipe officiating. A private interment will be held at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery . Visitation will be at Lord & Stephens West, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, January 25, 2011. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to either Watkinsville First United Methodist Church Building Fund, or to St. Mary's Hospice House.
