Bessie Patsy Bagwell

Bessie Patsy Bagwell, 89, of Bogart, passed away on January 6, 2026.

Born in Washington DC, she was the daughter of the late Cleve and Dolly Bagwell. Bessie was a very loving mother who would give the shirt off her back. In her free time, she enjoyed goodwill thrifting and cooking, but nothing was more important than being with her beautiful family.

Survivors include her children Chuck Cheek (Pam) Danny Cheek, David Cheek (Jeannie), Chris Cheek (Melinda), Cindy Cheek (Wayne), Claude Cheek, and Tony Cheek (Tammy); 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, Bessie is preceded in death by her brothers, J.C Bagwell, Jimmy Bagwell, and Louis Bagwell; sisters Pauline Hopkins, and Betty Ann Shelnutt; daughter Pam Cheek; grandson Daniel Cheek; and daughter-in-law Audrey Cheek.

Graveside services for Bessie Bagwell will be held Monday, January 12, 2026, at 10:00 AM, Athens Memory Gardens.
