It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Benjamin James Sittig, who died November 14, 2025 in Commerce, Georgia.. He was born in Groton, Connecticut, January 22, 1987, the son of Victoria (Smith) Sittig and Kenneth Wayne Sittig. He spent his childhood in Greenfield, Massachusetts. 

Ben graduated from Bement School, attended Pomfret School in Pomfret, Connecticut and later attended The Museum School of Fine Arts at Tufts in Boston where he continued his artwork in sculpting. He was driven by an endless thirst for knowledge to understand the world around him. We remember him for his kindness, humor, creativity, and generosity. 

Ben struggled for many years with mental illness, facing its challenges with bravery that often went unseen. Despite the weight of his illness, he continued to offer kindness, insight, and loyalty to the people he loved. 

Benjamin is survived by his parents, Wayne Sittig and Victoria Sittig, his sister, Julie, his cousins, Jessica Dean, Alex Dean, Debbie Turk, his aunt, Sherrill Smith, his uncle Dolan Sittig, and his cat Callie. He leaves behind memories of tender conversations, laughter, a uniquely thoughtful spirit, and a love that will endure. 

The family welcomes donations in his memory to mental health organizations that are dedicated to the treatment, awareness, and assistance of those suffering from mental illness or to an animal shelter of your choice.
