Beecher Tyson Jenkins

Beecher Tyson Jenkins, 97, of Danielsville, GA, died on January 7, 2024, at his residence. Born at his home in Danielsville, GA, he was the son of the late Henry Beecher Jenkins and Sarah Ollie Dillard Jenkins and brother to the late Margaret Yarbrough, Marcile Kitchens, Ray Jenkins and Austin Jenkins.  After graduation from Danielsville High School, he was drafted into the US Navy and served from 1944 until 1945.  Upon completing his naval service, he worked as a farmer, in construction, and retired from the University of Georgia in 1988, where he worked as a construction estimator in the Physical Plant for more than 20 years. He was an active and faithful member of Moon's Grove Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 77 years, Marie Allen Jenkins; daughter, Sandra Scoggins; grandchildren, Jennifer Scoggins (John) Bailey and Jeff (Christy) Scoggins; and five great-grandchildren, Christopher Scoggins, Savannah Scoggins, Nathan Bailey, Naomi Bailey, and Sara Beth Scoggins. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at 11:15AM at Moon's Grove Baptist Church, with Pastors Tracey Deavers and Terry Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Bailey, Nathan Bailey, Mike Burroughs, Tim Filkins, Jeff Scoggins and Tripp Strickland. The family will receive friends at the church from 10AM until service time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Moon's Grove Baptist Church or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
