Arthur Dewey Owen

Arthur (Art) Dewey Owen, 70, of Winterville, Georgia passed away on May 19, 2025. Born in St. Louis, Missouri on June 11, 1954, he was the son of the late Thomas Frank Owen Sr. and Alean Pearl Owen. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Thomas F. Owen Jr.

Art was a veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1975 to 1982 on active duty and in the Army Reserves until 2014, retiring at the rank of Command Sergeant Major. During his civilian career, Art spent over 40 years working as a facilities manager at various businesses as well as the Federal Government, ending his career with his retirement from the GSA Savannah office. He married his loving wife, Cynthia Louise West-Owen on October 11, 1997, in Clermont, GA.

Survivors in addition to his wife include his son, Jason Owen (Shanna Tucker); granddaughter: Aurora Owen; and siblings: Nancee Owen Purdum (James Purdum II), Shirley Owen Dupuy (Steve), Deborah Owen Martynowski (Robert), Mary Owen Innis (Carl), and Donald Owen.
