Antoinette Wilkerson Watts

Antoinette Wilkerson Watts of Athens, Ga died peacefully on August 31, 2025. She was born May 4, 1945 in Talladega, Alabama to Thomas Eugene and Anna Marshall Clapp Wilkerson and grew up in Troy, Alabama. After graduating from Charles Henderson High School, and attending the University of Alabama, she was a long-time resident of Atlanta, working at the Coca-Cola Company for 25 years, before she moved to Athens, Ga. in 2012.

Antoinette was preceded in death by her parents and her brother John H. Wilkerson. She is survived by her daughter Laura Watts Shain of Athens; her sister Anna Marshall Kress; her brother Thomas E. Wilkerson; her grandchildren William Shain and Nora Shain; nieces Elizabeth Wilkerson Starling (David), Angela Wilkerson Beck (Anthony), Emily Wilkerson (Jeff), Katherine Kress Woocher (Michael); nephews Devon Wilkerson and Travin Wilkerson, as well as many beloved great nieces, great nephews and cousins.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 6, 2025, at 11 am at St. Dunstan's Episcopal Church, 4393 Garmon Rd. NW, Atlanta Ga with a reception to follow. Burial will be at a later date in the family plot at Oakwood Cemetery in Troy, Alabama. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations may be made to your favorite charity.
