Anthony J. Sheppard 68, of Hull, GA passed away on September 4, 2026. Tony is the only child born to the late Baylas Ramsey Sheppard and Hazel Dianell Weaver Sheppard of Forest Park, GA. He is the son-in-law of the late MSG Ralph A. Epps, Retired (Peggy). Tony passed at St. Mary's Hospital, Athens, GA after an 18-day battle with cancer.
Tony leaves behind his wife of 39 years, Sharon Ann Epps Sheppard, Hull, GA and their children: Rachel Elizabeth Sheppard Bryan (Nathan) Goldsboro, NC and William Anthony Sheppard (Laura) Sellersville, PA. Grandchildren: Matthias Bryan, Lunarae Bryan, Alana Bryan and Reid Sheppard. He leaves behind a very caring extended family of first cousins and their families. His pets: Tilly, Gracie, Skip, Zeus and Possum will miss their dad.
Tony worked for General Motors for many years, like his dad. He also worked in various positions in the automotive industry and retired from Hitachi Automotive, Monroe, GA in 2022. Tony immensely enjoyed paintball and his buddies and his family while his health allowed him to enjoy them.
He and his parents faithfully attended Lake City Baptist Tabernacle, Lake City, GA where he and his folks came to know the Lord. He was involved in the bus ministry for many years. Tony attended Baptist University of America, Decatur, GA.
Tony met his wife at Lake City and they married on August 29, 1987 at Peoples Baptist Church in Morrow, GA. They lived in Forest Park and Carnesville before moving to Hull, GA where they resided at the same address for 25 years. His family attended Bluestone Baptist and Temple Baptist Church, Athens, GA.
Lord and Stephens, West, Watkinsville, GA is in charge of the arrangements. Dr. Paul Downey, Temple Baptist and Pastor Keith Fleming, Jodeco Baptist, will be officiating the ceremony. On Friday, September 11, 2026, viewing will be from 10 am to 11 am and the service will follow. Afterwards, Tony will be laid to rest next to his mom and dad at Forest Hills Memorial Garden, Conley Road, Forest Park, GA.
