Anne Griffeth Sisk-Smith passed away peacefully, leaving behind a life beautifully lived. She devoted herself wholeheartedly to owning and operating a poultry and cattle farm, work that was not just a livelihood but a true calling. She loved every part of farm life and took great pride in what she built.
That same dedication carried her through twenty years of service on the Board of Directors for AgGeorgia Farm Credit, where she made history as the first woman ever appointed to the position. She served with distinction and retired having left a lasting mark on Georgia’s agricultural community.
Away from the farm, Anne’s days were filled with the things that brought her joy. She enjoyed hunting for treasures while antiquing, nurturing her garden, or expressing her creativity through china painting. But nothing brought Anne more happiness than time spent with her beloved grandson Justin. He was, without question, the greatest joy of her life.
Anne is survived by her grandson Justin and his partner Oliver, and by her cherished friends Aaron, Kris, London, Julie, and Sonya — people who were far more than friends; they were family. She is preceded in death by her daughter Pam Arthur, her husband Pete Sisk, who passed away in 2006, and her husband Horace Smith, who passed away in 2026.
Justin wishes to extend his deepest and most heartfelt gratitude to Anne’s devoted caregivers — Odessa, Ruby, Sandra, Bonita, Nell, Judy, and Tamacia. Their compassion, patience, and steadfast care were a gift beyond measure, and he will be forever grateful for each of them.
A celebration of Anne’s life will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at 11:00 am at Moon’s Grove Baptist Church with Mrs. DeeDee Lee officiating. Interment will follow in the Moon’s Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Aaron Dove, John Cass, Wesley Jordan, Tripp Strickland, Gavin Griffeth and Pat Quinn.
