Knowing Angus Stewart Moller
Angus Stewart Moller died suddenly and unexpectedly on July 26, 2026, at his home, which he had lovingly restored and recreated. In his final moments, he was held in love by Susan, his life partner, his kindred spirit, and his soulmate of 20 years.
Angus was born on September 4, 1964, in Redondo Beach, California, to George Edward Moller and Elizabeth Stewart Moller. He was the youngest of five children and was born on his mother’s birthday—a serendipitous beginning that forever made him happy.
Angus was a true artisan—a modern Renaissance man.
He was an immensely likeable guy who generously shared his talents with family, friends and neighbors. He had quiet strength, a quirky sense of humor that made him laugh, remarkable ingenuity and unwavering integrity.
Angus understood materials. He had the uncanny ability to figure out how things worked. Whether he was working with the many species of wood, steel construction, stonework, or some obstinate machine, he approached every challenge with creativity, intense patience, and determination. He believed if something was worth doing, it was worth finding a better way to do it—and doing it the right way.
His exceptional skills and curiosity allowed him to see possibilities where others saw problems. He loved discovering elegant solutions and often invented better ways to accomplish what seemed impossible. His hands could build, restore, repair, and create almost anything, but it was his character, his integrity, and his generous spirit that truly defined him.
Angus found great joy in spending long hours in his shop, building, refining, and bringing new ideas to life. He loved working with his many tools, and if he did not have the exact one he needed, he would create it.
Angus also loved tending his extraordinary garden that he recreated each year. The rhythm of planting, watering, and tending his remarkable collection of flowers, vegetables, and herbs soothed his spirit, with his big ginger cat Scrapper happily following him as he worked. His garden is a haven for countless birds and pollinators and is watched over by two life-size giraffes.
Angus was a gentle steward of the earth, a loyal friend to animals and people, and someone who quietly made the world around him kinder and more beautiful simply by caring for it.
Angus left this world beneath the light of a full moon, just before a powerful eclipse. It seems fitting he now belongs to the earth, the wild places, the stars, and the vast universe he loved.
Angus will be cremated with a few cherished keepsakes of special meaning, including his tall ribbed glass for his morning coffee and a toothbrush-a quiet tribute to his admiration for Jack Reacher, whose steadfast commitment to doing the right thing reflected values Angus deeply respected.
Angus leaves behind a world made kinder and more beautiful because he was here. He will forever remain wrapped in love and held within the heart of Susan. No measure of time will lessen how deeply he will be missed or how profoundly he was loved.
Fly free, my Love.
