On Sunday May 4th, 2025, Agnes Sorrow Norton (aka “Aggie”), passed away surrounded by her family.
Agnes was born May 8th, 1928. She was a few days shy of having her 97th birthday. She was preceded in death by her parents Lewis and Francis Sorrow, her husband of 60 years James “Tony” Norton, her brother Hugh “Jimbo” Sorrow and her son-in-law Mike Whitehead. She leaves behind her daughter Linda Norton Whitehead (Mike), granddaughter Casey Whitehead Busbin (Chris), and two great grandchildren Easton Busbin and Lawson Busbin. As well as, many cousins and family friends.
Agnes lived a long beautiful life. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, entertaining family and friends and never sat down, always staying busy cooking and cleaning. She and her husband Tony loved to entertain and host events at their farm. Their yearly BBQ, which they called the “pig picking”, was something they looked forward to every year in October. They hosted many family and friends who would come to the farm and stay the weekend cooking, fishing and fellowship. Agnes and Tony also travelled to many places with family and friends, so they shared the best stories and funny moments about their experiences. Agnes always had plans and goals she wanted to achieve. She was spunky and blessed with a sound mind up until her death. She loved her only daughter, Linda, very much. She had a list of things she wanted her and Linda to do once Linda retired, which was Wednesday April 30th of this year. She was so proud of her daughter and family. Agnes and her only granddaughter, Casey, were very close. Casey and her husband Chris were able to move to the farm in 2016 to be there with her and carry on the family farm, with her being in charge of course! The “boss” was her title and she had daily tasks for them as well. She was blessed with two great grandchildren, both boys, that took priority over everyone. Easton and Lawson loved spending time with their Aggie, playing games, reading, telling stories and making jokes. She was so proud of them and wanted them to have the best.Agnes loved life and wasn’t quite ready to leave her family, but God was ready for her to be reunited with her husband Tony so they could entertain their family and friends in heaven. She will truly be missed and life will definitely be different without her navigating the way.We would like to thank all her family and friends for always checking in on her, calling and visits. Mrs. Mary Paradise for visiting weekly to wash and roll her hair, so she would look “presentable” if someone came over or if she was going out. Tamara Doolittle for helping with care, cooking, outings, and whatever the “boss” asked her to do. We are so very thankful for her pastor, Brett Mask, for all his visits and talks when she was unable to attend church regularly. He always brightened her day and she was very proud to call him her pastor.
