Born on November 23, 1940 in Butler, GA, he was the son of Addis Bernard Gordy, Sr. and Eula Albritten Gordy (later Eula Cannon). He worked as a painting contractor. Addis was an avid outdoorsman who loved camping and fishing.
Along with his parents, Addis was preceded in death by his son, Alan Gordy; stepson Henry “Juckie” G. Lord, Jr.; siblings Florence Cowey and Susie Moore; and two grandchildren.
Addis is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Geneva P. Gordy; two sons, Donny (Mary Ann) Gordy and Ronald (Sandra) Gordy; two stepdaughters, Kathy (Don) Audulewicz and Linda (Rickey) Lord; siblings Paul C. Jackson and Blanche Snelgrove; 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 21 at Ila Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.
