Vernon Lee Norman, 81, of Winterville, Georgia entered peacefully into his heavenly home on December 7, 2021. He was the husband of Liz Cole Norman of 55 years.

Born May 22, 1940 in San Antonio, Texas to Richard Ivey Norman and Iva Reine Stroud Norman.

Lee is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Sean; 3 sisters: Erlyne Smith, LaVerne Brandal, and Barbara Jo Anderson; 3 brothers: Gerald Norman, Wilbur Norman and Rev. Richard Norman.

Lee moved from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida to Winterville, Georgia in 2005. He served in the United States Coast Guard from 1957-1963. Lee for many years was self-employed owning his Music store and Video production company. He loved playing his guitar; singing; reading; baking; woodworking; playing, watching, and coaching sports; as well as video producing and editing. He loved his Savior Jesus Christ and always put others first, especially his wife and family, as he was a loving Husband, Father, Papa, Brother, and Uncle. Lee was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and Sonlight Baptist Church, Colbert, Georgia.

He leaves behind many loved ones, including: his beloved wife and mother of his children, Liz. His two remaining sons, Shannon Norman (Shirley) of Winterville, Ga.; and Dr. Brian Norman (Laura) of Holly Springs, NC. His brother Fred Norman (Caroline) of California. Grandchildren: Ryan (Brittany), Sean, Shayna, Summer (Wesley), Dylan, Cheyanne, Rachel, Titus, and Micah. Eleven Great Grandchildren: Raiya, Anthony, Gage, River, Novalee, Arya, Calianna, Carter, Casen, Zayne and Channing. Many nieces and nephews.

A “Celebration of Life” Service is at 2:00pm on Saturday December 11, 2021 at Lord and Stephens East Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home at 1:00 PM. A graveside service will follow at Athens Memory Gardens. Services conducted by his son, Pastor Brian Norman and Pastor John Reynolds. Pallbearers are his grandsons: Ryan, Sean, Dylan, Titus, Micah, and great grandson Anthony.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Liz Norman to help with cost of services at 46 Pine View Dr. Winterville, GA 30683 or to Sonlight Baptist Church at 1134 Hargrove Lake Rd, Colbert, GA 30628.
