Nancy Anna Parker Ewing, 75, of Buckhead, passed away on Monday, October 21, 2019.
Born on August 4, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Augustus Huey Parker and Lillian Irene Bennett Parker. Along with her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her brother, Julian Parker.
Nancy is survived by her husband of 56 years, Jerrill H. Ewing, Jr.; two children: Tammy (Jay) Nix and Troy (Angela) Ewing; five grandchildren: Austin Nix, Mollie (Luke) Harvey, Madison Ewing, Cole Ewing, and Cale Ewing; and one great-granddaughter on the way, along with a number of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Nancy sold real estate for over fifty years, first with Northside Realty and then with Lane Realty after her move to Lake Sinclair. Nancy loved her job and was successful, becoming a lifetime member of the Million Dollar Club.
Nancy loved living on the lake and spending time with her family, especially days with her grandkids at the pool. She and her husband traveled the world, but Nancy really enjoyed the simple, basic things in life, like chocolate, going to the beach, and watching her grandkids play sports. Nancy did not enjoy cooking and was always responsible for bringing rolls and paper plates to family dinners. She didn’t believe in sugarcoating things and spoke directly and to the point—no matter who could hear her—but she was also witty with a great sense of humor. She joked until the very end.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 24, at Lakepoint Community Church in Eatonton at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30 p.m. until service time.
