Michael W. Lewis Sr., beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, passed away on Friday, November 22, 2019 at the age of 64.
Born in Abbeville, SC, he was a son of the late David Lewis and Martha Martin Lewis. Mr. Lewis served in the United States Air Force for seven years where he achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant prior to receiving an honorable discharge. He was a published writer and an avid outdoorsman with a love for hunting and fishing. Mr. Lewis worked as a Licensed Master Landscaper for the USDA Research Lab in Athens. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother and two grandchildren, Baby Girl Miller and Austin Wiatrowski.
Survivors include his wife, Lois Lewis; eight children, Tammi Wiatrowski (Ski), Jessica Wilson (Michael), Linda Lowery, Gloria Keenan-Crook (Robbie), Master Sergeant (Ret.) Michael Lewis II (Jamie), Theodore Miller Jr. (Barbara), Roger Miller (Wendy) and Larry Miller (Laura); six brothers, James Lewis, Wendell Lewis, Tony Lewis, Jimmy Lewis, Lee Lewis and John Lewis; 21 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 26, 2019 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Lord and Stephens, East.
